Formats

Spatial Format

The data are held at local authority level for England. A definitive list of boundary changes between 1995 and 1998 ensures that variables from different sources are compatible at the local authority level. The data can be aggregated to county, regional (standard government and Housing Corporation) and national level.

Time Format

Some variables are collected quarterly. All of the data are also annual averages. The rent variables are available from 1989/90 since the implementation of the 1988 Housing Act to the present. The other contextual variables are for the latest years with a growing number of back years.

Graphical Format

The data are held in Access and SPSS files and can be presented graphically and in the form of maps at the district, county or regional level within England.
